Neutronic Parameter Analysis of Plate-Type Fueled TRIGA 2000 Reactor by MCNPX

A novel simulation to calculate the neutronic parameters of TRIGA 2000 reactor using plate-type fuel has been performed. The plate used was produced by Indonesian Nuclear Industry (PT INUKI) with U3Si2-Al material. Neutronic based on INUKI’s dimension and current TRIGA’s configuration were simulated MCNPX. performed modeling complete reactor’s a fresh core state. We obtained kinetic parameter values from simulation, i.e., delayed neutron fraction 8.11×10‑3, prompt lifetime 2.0551×10‑4 s, an average generation time 1.87×10‑4 s. excess reactivity 9.02 %Δk/k, while in one-stuck-rod state below ‑0.5 $ value ‑3.40 %Δk/k (‑4.19 $). thermal flux peak occurred at central irradiation position 3.0×1013 3.1×1013 n/(cm2 s). power peaking factor 1.379 control rod 0 % D3 fuel. had negative feedback coefficient, except for moderator coefficient. These results suggest that met nuclear safety standards.
